Free pattern. Festival crochet top.

Hi, everyone.

As ultimately many people ask me about patterns of my works, I will try to dedicate more time to describing them with schemes on my blog. So, subscribe to be noticed about new publications.

Today I decided to describe this crochet halter top:

(those who only want to order this festival top, here is the link on my CrocheTops shop)

The description is provided for sizes S (M) (L).

Yarn: take one ball of Lanas Stop “Cuzco” (mixed yarn of 80% rayon, 20% polyimide approx. 237/262 meters (259/286 yards) in 100 gr; yarn between 240-300 m in 100 gr equals 8 ply (UK, AU, NZ), DK (US), 3 or Light (standard yarn weight system)).

Hook 2.5 mm.

Abbreviations used (in US crochet terms):

sc – single crochet, dc – double crochet, sts – stitch (es), r – row (s), prev. r. -previous row, motif – repeated sts of the pattern, * – repeat from * till *, ch – chain (s), arcs of chains – several chains worked between sc sts or dc sts and used to place other stitches over them (not into them!) – not to be confused with chains in the beginning of each row.

– arc of 5 chains

Top:
1st r: chain 93 (96) (99).

2nd r: chain 3 (count as 1 dc), 1 dc into 5th ch from the hook, then work 1 dc into each ch across the row.

3rd r: chain 3 (count as 1 dc) over the 1st dc, cluster of 2 dc (two dc joined at the top and worked into 2 different dc), then work 87 (90) (93) dc across the row, cluster of 2 dc, 1 dc into 3rd ch in the beginning of the prev. r. This way you will decrease 2 sts in the row.

4th and all even rows: chain 3 (count as 1 dc) over the 1st dc, then work 1 dc into each sts across the row.

5th and all odd rows: decrease 2 sts as described in 3rd r (work 2 clusters in the row).

16th r (arcs of 5 ch): chain 5, skip (1 cluster of 2 dc and 1 dc), work 1 sc into next sts, *chain 5, skip 3 dc, work 1 sc into  4th dc*, repeat from * till * 18 (19) (20) times totally, for the final arc chain 2, work 1 dc (counts as 3 ch) into 3rd ch in the beginning of the prev. r; there will be 20 (21) (22) arcs.

17th r (arcs of 5 ch in the checkerboard order): *chain 5, skip 1 sc, work 1 sc over next arc of 5 ch*, repeat from * till * 18 (19) (20) times totally, for the final arc chain 2, work 1 dc (counts as 3 ch) into 3rd ch in the beginning of the prev. r; there will be 19 (20) (21) arcs, thus decreased one arc in the row.

18-27 r (arcs of 5 ch in the checkerboard order): work as described for 17th r, decreasing 1 arc in each row; there will be 9 (10) (11) arcs in 27th row.

28th r: chain 3, skip 1 sc, work 1 sc over next arc of 5 ch, *chain 2, skip 1 sc, work 1 sc over next arc of 5 ch*, repeat from * till * 6 (7) (8) times totally, work 1 dc into 3rd ch in the beginning of the prev. r; there will be 8 (9) (10) arcs.

For better understanding I have provided chart for size S (small). Abbreviations in the chart:
chain

Finishing:

Work one row of sc around all edges (to have a neater look), though you can skip this stage if you prefer the top as it is.

Strings:

1st r: chain 100.
2nd r: chain 2, 1 sc into 3rd ch from hook, then 1 sc into each ch across.
Crochet 4 strings and attach them to the top as shown in the photo:

Оля, а на фото как будто бы есть вытачки, а в описании нет. Этот топ делается с вытачками или без?

Да, на фото есть выточки, но этот топ смотрится очень хорошо и без них.

Es la primera vez que entro a tu página. Si quisiera hacer el top todo igual sin el calado, cómo serían las disminuciones laterales? Soy novata y no sé aún ver esas cosas :-/ Un saludo y gracias por el patrón.
